How do I know if I have cast iron pipes?
If your home was built before about 1980, the original drain lines are very likely cast iron. Signs they’re failing include slow or gurgling drains, sewer odors, recurring backups, and patches of damp or uneven flooring. The only sure way to know the condition is a camera inspection — which we’ll do before recommending anything.
Should I repair or fully replace cast iron pipe?
It depends on how much of the line has gone. A single isolated crack can sometimes be spot-repaired; a line that’s corroded throughout is money better spent on replacement. We don’t guess — we camera the line, show you the footage, and give you the honest trade-off so you’re not paying for more (or less) than you need.
Can you replace cast iron under my slab without destroying my floors?
Often, yes. Where it makes sense, we tunnel under the foundation to reach and replace the line, which keeps your flooring intact and the mess outside. We’ll always walk you through the options before any digging starts.
What does cast iron pipe replacement cost?
