Can you run a new gas line to a generator or outdoor equipment?
Yes. That is one of the more common gas jobs we do. The line gets sized for what it has to feed, trenched out from the meter, and run to the equipment. Generators are the one we get asked about most, usually ahead of winter. Call and tell us what you are putting in and where, and we will give you a free estimate.
Do I need the gas company or a plumber?
Generally the utility is responsible up to the meter, and everything on your side of the meter belongs to you. So a new line to a generator, a line to an appliance, or a repair on a yard line is our work, not theirs. If you are not sure which side of the meter your problem is on, call and ask. We will tell you straight, even if the answer is that it is the utility’s.
I smell gas. What should I do?
Do not go looking for the leak yourself, and do not flip switches or light anything. Get everyone out of the building, and from outside call 911 or your gas utility. They will make the situation safe. Once that is done and the line needs repairing, call us on (469) 651-2873 and we will take it from there.
